ROUND 7

Aurora Borealis stretches

her long fingers

through the icy November sky.

Her colors so vibrant yet so subtle,

They dazzle, yet still I ache for more.

My heart stretches, trying to touch the sky,

I want to take those glimmering ribbons

and make them my own.

Such beauty will always be fleeting.

Perhaps this is the bane of man's existence,

To know Nature can never be possessed.

          Andrea Mattson

Bright and transparent,

Dances in the winter wind

A bubble of silence.

          Domitille Desforges

Thanks to poetry,

Our secret community

Reinvents the world

when the times slow down

darkness dominates the day

as the sun speeds up

the solar winds flow

as a meandering stream

through the atmosphere

Bon Fire

Soft crimson embers

gently glow in the darkness

soothing us to sleep

          Jessica Burch

Walking you and I

Going this way going that

Watch out for mopeds

          Lori Wesolek

Orion remains

Tirelessly pursuing

All our distant dreams

Warm spice fills the air

Soon the whole house will be filled

Friends, family and food

Right around the bend

Bare trees hint at winter’s chill

The wind is quiet

          Pamela Snyder

Falling leaves touch down

Becoming one with the earth

Resting forever

The sound of silence

The beauty of simply being

An inner stillness

          Mike He

It is too damned cold!

Bike riding is now painful:

Can’t feel my fingers.
